Squier STRAT AFFINITY Series | Truly Underrated??
I dont understand what you mean by "?pound for pound "? is this american slang ?
Pound for pound means best guitar regardless of price / brand
Hate for Tom Morello from Washington
Is it heavy like the late 70s CBS era guitars?
I’d say like around 7 pounds
That looks like late 70's early 80's because the headstock. So, this is "Post" Lawsuit. A Lawsuit LP is one that has the same headstock as a Gibson. I think 77' and after they got rid of the Gibson open book shape.
I had to pay 100 dollors xtra for taxes what the heck man
Who’s the guy that knows z wylde
Like your playing brother!
I remember when I was starting I wanted one of those sooooo bad
That’s a wyld first guitar!!
Stratabond is very strong but the weight throws the balance of the guitar way off. In fact as of 2024 I believe there no longer using Stratabond.
Diminishing returns. A $6000 guitar is better than a $3000 guitar is better than a $1000 guitar is better than a $300 guitar. The difference between $300 and $1000 is huge, $1000 to $3000 smaller, and $3000 to $6000 smaller yet. It's just how it goes. If it's worth it or not is whether you can afford and whether you like how it plays, besides that it's not really worth comparing the prices. I have owned a dozen high end strats and my favorite one is a cheap Highway One strat that was like $750 new, and I have owned several Les Pauls and my favorite one is my Custom Shop '68 reissue.
$50 *Fendar* acoustic guitar used by my cousin for years
80 fender strat copy, that floating around ever where into my avid eleven Slaps still.
I have two PRS Private Stock both north of $15K .. I picked up a Custom 1 piece 5A top directly from Gibson... $10199 .. and honestly, it totally worth it... this is the older sibling of the PRS's and frankly a fine instrument in every respect.
It was an unbranded dreadnought that my grandfather “Luthier“ fixed up and gave me on a holiday when I was five. When I was in eighth grade, a bully from my school broke it over a sidewalk curb. He just apologized for it about two years ago (20 years). I told him the story of the guitar in front of his wife and kids, so we are cool now. 😂
Acoustic D'angelica plug in
Hondo electric, explorer shaped, black with white spider web pattern, I thought it was the coolest!
Black strat
Tobacco sunburst washburn
I've always loved Ovation, the sound just can't be beat. I've been playing on an Applause AE-28, but my brother just gave me a beat up old 1971 Balladeer to fix up (he knows I love a project.) The shape of the body doesn't bother me because I learned how to play on round back guitars in my high school guitar class.
Tom morello is great if you like hearing the same riff over and over again for 3 minutes
Thank you for your opinion, hair metal fan
@@gerardm.5047 hair metal is gay
He's just funck heavy metal
Yup and I’m here for the cool ass riff I wish they could do 5mins riff tho❤
Of all the words used to describe him.. you went with his 'energy'. He was innovative in how he used the guitar and wrote some awesome riffs and solos around his style.
Tom sucks
But daron though?
System of a down?
Which guitar have you played has the darkest, warmest tone?
Do you know if you get points on the website for buying this with a code found on the inside thanks.
Hate for Tom Morello from Washington.
Martin started doing three piece backs in the 60’s because of the shortage of Brazilian rosewood. So was born the D-35. They continued making it with Indian rosewood even though there was no shortage.
I wasn't born then but I think this is exactly how people felt when listening to Van Halen back in the day
Tim gets a lot more attention and may or may not be more technically skilled but whenever Scottie gets a chance, his solos always outshines Tims like Die on the Cross of the Martyr But unlike all these Tim Henson haters, I do like Polyphia and their music style is personally a good change of pace from the typical pop and metal songs that are being released nowadays because it happens to be alternative and all that
Tim.. can we call that alien 'Timmy'? He is a sports guy, not a musician.
To be honest, i think Scott LePage is better than Tim.
Fuck this ting tong shit
That's cheap Marcin Patrzałek ripoff.
nah
@@sql64 totally is but adapted for anime fans. It's 100% technical, 0 flow, 0 feeling. Soulless TikTok noises
Tim is nothing like Marcin. Marcin is a heavily percussive, 100% acoustic guitar player who often plays in a classical style. Apart from playing god (which can barely be linked to marcin's playing style either) they basically share no similarities in their playing.
Nah@@JesusB54
@@MortonCammar With all my respect I can agree only with your first sentence :P it's like comparing old mustang with new Xiaomi car. Imagine guitar battle between those two - would be like Jazz band after hours VS 'Timmy&Lords of the underworld' 🤣
average guitar player. nowhere near Randy Rhodes level.
wylde is a pioneer. rhodes was painfully average, and a poor imitation of eddie van halen. rhodes copied everything edward did, very poorly.
They’re completely different style of players … can’t even compare .. both are great in their own right imo
I recall him saying he knew he couldn't compete with the yngwie style shredders so he decided to specialize into pentatonic shredding. His playing has a very distinct tasteful groove
I realise I’m late the party but… I just got a custom 68. Hands down the most impressive guitar I have ever owned or played. No it wasn’t cheap but it’s a lifer. I ain’t getting rid of it anytime soon.
What happened to your posting mate?
Something big is up in the works….. 🙏🙏
It is a great guitar, I just got a custom shop Gibson les Paul custom in black for a steal a couple of months ago. It had a great headstock repair and it lowered the price to 2400 dollars.
I possess a the Loar Lh700 since 2010 and it is great instrument, load, light and well manufactured. Mine is equiped with a Benedetto S6 floating pickup and electric it sound marvelous. I play in bigbands and at louder level no problems with feedback. It has a amazing attack in its sound . I have a major American brand archtop and a vintage Japanese one but I prefer to play this the Loar.
its a mid tier fender japan, try a fender japan extrad reissue
Ibanez af2000 only made in Japan is a gem! Premium quality archtop for fraction of price.
I've got a 2003. Bought it used-it had a repaired neck. Beautiful guitar. It goes perfectly with my Standard and Telecaster. Between these three, my search is over. I've got the tones I want. The reason the pickguard design is different from a Standard and Custom is because it's a flat slab.
what a joke. No playing all talk
I got one of those a couple years ago at a pawnshop for 600 bucks. Looks exactly like yours except mine has no little toggle. Which is fine since it seems to do nothing. Mine had been upgraded with Seymour Duncan pickups but unfortunately the same crappy tuners. It was very obviously played hard by a punk rocker rhythm guitarist, judging by the crazy scratches on the pick guard. Strangely the rosewood fretboard has absolutely no wear and looks brand new, like it’s been replaced. The headstock has a big chip out of it and the neck paint is worn right down to bare wood. It’s a mahogany neck. Anyway, it sounds pretty good. Thought about getting a replacement pick guard and fixing the dings and chips but then decided to leave it’s personality alone. Funny thing people say is, “Holy shit! You beat the hell out of that guitar! Are you a punk rocker or just really clumsy?” “Nope, that was the guy before me. I baby this thing.” Great review of a guitar that came out when I graduated highschool. 🤙🏼
You don’t ‘care’ for weapons. Smh
Ovation Guitars was founded in 1965 by Charles Kaman in New Hartford, Connecticut. You have a really nice piece of history there Dude.
It sounds like you dislike the aesthetic dovetail shape of the end of the headstock, which is totally irrelevant to anything. If you did your research (Wikipedia would work) you would find out that the material that forms the body isn’t fiberglass, but an advanced material that is an early version of carbon fiber, stronger than steel and very light. Helicopter rotors were made of it. The paper inside the guitar isn’t original. The original had a metal plate saying Ovation. I have a 1973 Glen Campbell. It originally had a rubber patch to help keep it in your knee, but I just use a strap. It was the most advanced guitar of its time and maybe of all time and it was an expensive instrument. In 1973, it cost $480. You could get a Martin for less. That’s about $5,000 in today’s dollars.
In addition to 18 other Ovations (and countless Martins, Taylors, Gibsons, etc.) , I also own that same 1968 Deluxe model (but mine is a sunburst). I have also amassed a photo collection of world-elite musicians (100+ individuals) playing Ovations over the course of the past six decades to present.. so based on that, alone, anyone who cares to can freely stuff the notion that Ovations are not a high-end, professional product into the depth of their dark crevice. As well, if headstock design.. of all things.. is a deal breaker on overall guitar evaluation, then someone of such ilk is likely not even a "guitar player", much less a "guitarist". The shiny bowls were only in the very first couple of years of Ovation production, then went over to the textured Lyrachord that is still in use today.. and is essentially the same material that the Kaman Aircraft Company uses for their helicopter blades since the harmonic balance is required to be absolutely perfect (too techie? sorry. but please don't call it 'plastic'.) Oh, and the wood is New England spruce (USA Ovations are made in Connecticut). Which brings us to the history of the Kaman Music Company's founder, Charlie Kaman, and its technical evolution, of which is.. no doubt.. the most fascinating of any guitar story and an American treasure... so maybe read up on that and get back to us later (if you dare). And it's not like I am picking on the poster here since he did, after all, seem to eventually come to his senses.. but if David Gilmour is, in fact, your "guitar hero", then you obviously have not done your homework on him yet either or you would surely know that he originally wrote "Comfortably Numb" and several other Pink Floyd classics on an Ovation. I could go on.. but.. well.. point made for now.
I bought one of these new and sold it a couple of years later. I regret that now.
Is the Fender stratocaster american standar a professional guitar?
